Wed 8/24 - end of day

my goodness, what a day.  busy busy busy.  Had gr8 workout w/ Beverly.  Lifted some weights.  Fit test which i was really dreading but actually did pretty well.  YAY me!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Had a long talk w/ GF.  It was nice.  I miss the girls.  Got a pedi today.  My toes look very cute.  Korall colored my hair.  Hopefully it will look good.  Had normal Wed night cookout.  Don out to dinner w/ guys.
Stuck pretty good to meal plan.  It's difficult at night tho.  I seem to want to snack a lot.

Wed 8/24

A new day another chance for success.  I am excited about today's workout.  So let's just get it out of the way:

Fit assessment - YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man this LifeTime Fitness has just about everything I am interested in on their website.  They even have a meal plan.  It's a little limited but you could work it if you wanted.  And daily exercise routines.  Completely takes the thinking out of your routine.  Just what I'm looking for right now. 
Breakfast:
egg beaters w/ 1 whole egg, cheese and hot sauce
1c mandarin oranges
diet snapple
I don't have to work today but I seem very busy somehow.  Looking forward to gettin' movin' this morning. 
The storms woke me up around 5amish and I wasn't able to get back to sleep.  Now however, I think I could take a nap but going to get a move on.

Tues - end of day

Another pretty successful day.  I do notice however I am starting to take a bite of this or just a little of that.  A few tortilla chips or just one potato chip.  Testing the pasta before dinner.  Also, no fruit today.  This is the beginning of the end.  Tomorrow will make a more concentrated effort to not do those things.  I am also trying no to drink while eating. 
Followed my meal plan pretty good w/ the exception of those few slips.  So nothing major. 
I am starting to utilize protein bars again.  My favorite: Zone Bar Chocolate Carmel Cluster.

Dance Jam - so out of my realm
pleased to say I accomplished both. 
I cancelled my membership to McConnell today.  I can't say that I am sorry at this time.  I didn't debate it or think oh maybe this is a mistake.  I really don't think McConnell was really meeting my needs any longer.  The only thing I have enjoyed there this past year was boxing class.  Other than that it has felt like a chore to get there.  Actually there were mornings I decided to stay in bed instead of get up and going on.  There are people Iwill miss there. 
I have to figure out how to import some things to this blog that I want to share. 
Well, tired tonight.  Headed to bed.

Tues - mid day

Awesome walk w/ Colleen who is facilitator of the "Walk Club".  We walked the outer square of Easton and I burned about 415 calories.  Colleen introduced me to the stretching machine and I think I will use it since I am lack about stretching on my own.  I am planning on going to Dance Jam tonight.  I hope I catch on a bit more tonight.
Lunch:
LC Rice and Black Beans w/ hot sauce and some crushed up tortilla chips.
Stuck at my computer working the rest of this afternoon.  This will be a struggle for me as I feel like I need to snack while I'm here.
I'm gonna have to call my GF Steph and ask her to teach me how to do a body roll.  If feels like i'm doing it but i'm not seeing me do it.  i'm wondering if it could be because of this big belly that i can't see it.  Oh well,
on to work.

Tues 8/23

Hoping today is going to be another successful day.  I have my meal plan for the day and will just update as I eat thru out the day.

end of day

I am considering day 2 a success.  Even tho I was displeased w/ my weight and measurements I feel I am moving forward.  I torched 925calories today between working out w/ Beverly and Zumba and didn't overeat. 
Tired now.  Tomorrow then.

mid day

Today first official day as LifeTime Fitness member.  Very happy about that.
First real work out w/ Beverly.  It was challenging but doable for me.  I hated Jack's workouts.  They were so boring.  Even tho worked out w/ Beverly today, planning on going to Zumba tonight.
Very dissappointed in my weight and measurements.  I have let myself go to fat again. 
Need to make that phone call to McConnell to cancel my membership.  Hope I don't have to make a trip all the way in to cancel.
Again, was able to walk by the free cookies at Kroger.  Forgot again to by my sweet potato for dinner.  Oh well, will have to substitute.
Gotta get workin'.

Mon 8/22

With yesterday's success, I am looking forward to another good day.  I burned approximately 3751 calories last week which is enough for 1lb of weight loss.  Now if I just didn't overeat to equal that I should be good. 
First things first.  The meal plan for the day.
Breakfast:
1c. multigrain cheerio's
1/2c strawberries
3sl turkey bacon
1c skim milk
Lunch:
Grilled vegie burger w/ lettuce,tomato and Dijon mustard
whole grain bun
1c grapes
Dinner:
4oz steak
1/2 sweet potato
cucumbers/onions
Snacks:(these are eaten at various times during the day)
2oz sliced turkey
1 med apple
yogurt w/ 1T walnuts
8oz cocoa loca mocha(recovery drink from exercise)
Exercise today:
work out w/ Beverly and Zumba and I might try the STRIKE class.
I only have to work two hours today so have plenty of time to play.
Joining LifeTime Fitness this morning.  Very excited.  The parking sucks but that is the only con I have been able to come up.   It is nice to be enthused again about my exercise.  It was becoming drudgery after training w/ Jack.  What happened was what I was afraid of happening.  I hate that kind of training and of course I knew if I hated it I wouldn't go back and I haven't.  I have had more fun at LTF in one week than I have had a McConnell since boxing class.  Even tho Zumba is difficult for me (I don't move like I used to) I have burned over 500cals a class.  The only time I burn calories like that for an hour is when I run.  And this is so much more fun.

End of the day

Feeling pretty successful today.  Followed the meal plan pretty much. 
Foods I did not eat:
   tomatoes
   1/2 sweet potato
   fruit cup
Foods I substituted:
  cucumber slices
  AuGratin potatoes
And finally, foods I ate that were not on the meal plan:
  two slices of sandwich pepperoni
Exercise:
  Zumba

Kroger

YIPPEEEEE!!!!  Was able to walk by the free cookies at Krogers bakery w/o grabbing one.  It's a first in a while.  Lunch was good.  No drinking while eating.  Again a first in a while.  Hard to do tho.   Not sure I will be able to wait the 30" tho. Ok next on the list, 
Zumba baby.  Back later.

Sun 8/21 - what's the plan

It's a new day and a fresh start.  Sunday is always a good day to implement a new plan or goal.  I have several goals this week:
1.)  join LifeTime Fitness
2.)  begin working out w/ Beverly
3.)  follow a meal plan
4.)  lose 2lbs this week - i know that's kind of a big goal but i think i can do it.
I find I am more successful with eating when I follow a meal plan, so here is todays plan:
Breakfast:
 egg beaters w/ cheese and hot sauce
 100 cal mini whole wheat bagal (which I didn't eat)*
 grapefruit (saving for snack)
Lunch:
WW Smart Ones Chicken quesadilla w/ a little shredded lettuce and salsa
Dinner:
grilled pork
brussell sprouts, cherry tomatoes
1/2 sweet potato w/ splenda brown sugar and real butter
Snacks:(these will be eaten thru out the day)
grapefruit from breakfast
1 fruit cup (mandarin oranges in water), 2T cashews
100 cal pak popcorn
cocoa mocha loca made w/ skim milk - recovery drink after exercise
*will add a hard roll at dinner
I think that should cover the food for the day.  Now for the exercise:
Zumba  - yeah baby  luv it.
that does it for eating and exercise for the day. 
I need to make a graph and start tracking my weight loss. 
Will check back later to report progress. 
Sure wish my GF Steph could Zumba w/ me.  I need Zumba shoes.  Tennis shoes too bulky.  Well, I'll be over at Easton, maybe I'll check out the shoe store.

trying again

I realize I tried this back in April and just couldn't do it.  So I'm trying again.  I would like this blog to be about my ongoing attempts at health and wellness.  For me that is about keeping to a meal and exercise plan.  I am leaving my current health club McConnell and starting fresh with LifeTime Fitness.  I am currently on a 7-day free pass and have been having so much fun, I intend to join starting Monday.  I have been doing Zumba, DanceJam, walk club, water aerobics and had an opportunity to work out w/ Beverly Perfect, the trainer from the A&E show Heavy.  So I am pretty excited to join.  Actually I am joining Beverly Weight Loss Team for 3 months.  Hopefully she can help me get back on track. 
I think I would like to use this space to keep track of what I am eating thru out the day and the exercise I intend to do for the day and maybe the goal I have for the week.  And maybe, just how I'm feeling in general.
